SYCAmore: WISEflow's Development Roadmap
From its inception at the end of 2021, SYCAmore has evolved from a place to showcase UNIwise's thematic roadmap on the development of WISEflow into an extensive public view where customers can get an insight into current themes, major objectives and detailed feature descriptions. From a high-level theme view, customers can dive down into a detailed view of features being released.
SYCAmore's evolvement has at its core our increased focus on value-driven development and giving our customers the ability to receive insights into our development prioritisation. This is also in line with our move in 2023 to more frequent releases and sending out information about an upcoming release earlier. As we get closer to a release, the level of detail increases, leading to a description of context, value, objectives, and a full description of each feature, API endpoint, and maintenance work.
Thematic Roadmap
The thematic roadmap showcases the main areas on which we are focusing the majority of our development efforts. Each theme holds information on the general aim that is being achieved and a fictitious press release highlighting the value and improvements as well as the larger concepts (=boughs) to which they are connected.
Every prioritised theme will have its own theme page where customers can track objectives and progression to gradually build an understanding of what a theme entails. An FAQ section, a list of objectives and concepts leading to the development of features, is continuously being updated as a theme progresses. At the beginning of a theme journey, a high-level description will entail what we aim to achieve. Over time, this will become more descriptive as more information and detail are added on how a theme and its related features should work.
Next Release
This page provides and overview of the upcoming release and showcases the features, API endpoints and maintenance connected to each release. The next release overview is the central place where customers can find all release-related information, including videos. Details of what information is provided when can be found in our article: WISEflow Release Schedule.
Features are grouped by WISEflow user role and can selected or de-selected to provide you with a personalised view of the features to come. API endpoints can also be selected alone or alongside any of the roles, but are also grouped under a separate tab, helping stakeholders find the updates and changes that are relevant to them.
Details showcase the concept and theme to which a feature or API endpoint is related and highlight its value and objectives. A public description holds a more detailed description and links to the relevant documentation in the Service Centre.
Maintenance showcases the work being done to continuously update the backend structure of WISEflow and ensure that the platform is running smoothly and stable. Maintenance does not have an impact on customers or WISEflow's user interface.
Feature Releases
Working in the same way as the Next Release overview, Feature Release enables you to view the features of previous releases (selected from the drop-down list), including the relevant release video.
API Releases
This list provides an overview of all API endpoints released since 2022 and displays recently released or upcoming endpoints. A list of all active API endpoints can always be found in our technical documentation.
SYCAmore Replacing Change Log Page
SYCAmore is now the place that holds valuable and extensive information on upcoming and implemented updates to WISEflow. Any changes that will have an impact on customers will be announced on SYCAmore and in accompanying email communication. We are, therefore, streamlining our communication efforts and have deprecated the previously existing change log page as it no longer offers any added value. SYCAmore can be accessed directly from within WISEflow by clicking on the version information located at the centre of the page footer.
