Two-way Chat Functionality
Supporting students or candidates during high stakes exams, particularly remotely, is challenging. Such assessments are usually an extremely anxious time for people taking exams and knowing that help is available can go a long way in offering reassurance.
During exams that are often conducted over a short period, it is important that support can be offered in a timely manner. It is vital that candidates lose as little time as possible from their overall examination duration when needing to reach out for assistance.
Exam invigilators usually provide real-time support during an exam, and UNIwise is pleased to be able to offer a new two-way chat functionality, enabling invigilators or other support staff to chat to candidates whilst a FLOWmulti or FLOWlock exam is live.
UNIwise has partnered with Comm100 to provide a powerful new tool allowing candidates to reach out for help, directly from within the flow. Once a candidate has started their assessment in either FLOWmulti or FLOWlock, and the chat functionality is enabled on the customer's WISEflow licence, a widget is visible in the bottom right-hand corner of the screen.
Behind the scenes in Comm100, agents are added to the platform and, once logged in, can make themselves available to receive any chat requests being sent from candidates on the flow. Although in this scenario an agent is most likely to be an invigilator, any member of support staff can be added to offer assistance.
At the moment, the chat functionality can be enabled at the licence level meaning it will be available for all FLOWmulti and FLOWlock assessments. However, with the March release we will be delivering a new setting allowing customers to enable this functionality at the flow level. This will be available following the release on 15 March 2024.
Please note that the chat integration is designed for FLOWmulti and FLOWlock only and comes at an additional cost. Please reach to Customer Support for more information.
