Export FLOWmulti Assignments as PDF

FLOWmulti assignments can now be downloaded as PDFs through the API for easy archiving and sharing.

Institutions often need clear, long‑lasting records of the assessment materials used in their flows. While FLOWmulti assignments have always been accessible through the API, they were previously provided only in a technical data format, which was not ideal for archiving or sharing in a readable way. To make this easier, FLOWmulti assignments can now be retrieved directly as PDF files through the API.

This improvement allows assignments to be exported in a presentation-ready format, either as the version shown to students or with validation included. When validation is requested, the PDF includes the correct answers, making it suitable for internal review or moderation. If an assignment includes an information page, this will automatically be added to the PDF as well. The feature also works seamlessly when multiple assignments or versions have been used on a flow.

Retrieving the PDFs is done by first calling the endpoint that lists the assignments allocated to a specific flow:

GET flow/{flowID}/assignments

This will return the relevant assignment references. Once you have the publishedReference, you can request the assignment itself in PDF format:

GET flow/{flowID}/assignments/{publishedReference}

The result is a clean, ready‑to‑store PDF that can immediately be archived or used for documentation purposes.

Providing FLOWmulti assignments as PDFs offers institutions a simple and consistent way to maintain assessment records, support quality assurance processes, and share materials when needed,  all without requiring conversion tools or additional formatting work.
