WISEflow Lockdown Browser - Tools and Features
Learn about the variety of tools and features within the WISEflow lockdown browser.
You can make use of a variety of tools and features within the WISEflow lockdown browser. The tools and features may differ between FLOWlock and FLOWmulti exams but some functionalities are the same for both exam types.

Functionalities in the Lockdown Browser Navigation for Both FLOWlock and FLOWmulti
Inside the lockdown browser, a toolbar at the top shows you the current time (1), invigilation features used on the flow (if any) (2), your battery status (3), any direct messages that have been sent by invigilators or managers (4) as well as any added flow description (5).
How to Zoom in and out
Mac
- Zoom in: cmd +
- Zoom ou: cmd -
Windows
Click on the small info circle in the top menu. This will open the settings window where you have the option to set a zoom level and apply it.
Insert Symbols
It is possible to insert symbols that may not be available on your keyboard by clicking on the document icon with a plus sign on the upper left hand side. This will open a pop-up window with a list of available symbols for you to insert.

Search Functionality Using Windows
A magnifying glass on the upper left hand side opens the search box where you can enter one or multiple words. You can also specify whether the cases should match and the direction of the search (up or down).
Utilising this browser functionality will allow you to search for text within a drafted response in FLOWlock or within an item in FLOWmulti. Both are described below.
It can also be used to search within permitted internet resources.
FLOWlock
Search within a drafted response in FLOWlock
The search functionality enables you to look for words within your response that has been drafted using WISEflow's text editor on a FLOWlock.
The search functionality does not work for assignments that are opened alongside the text editor. It is only possible to search through an attached assignment via the assignment viewer, as described below. |
Search within an assignment and through the comments
A search can be made through any attached assignment via the assignment viewer, when the assignment is opened in a new tab. Opening the assignment in a new tab will provide you with a full PDF reader which includes the ability to search for text.
You can either search for keywords in the assignment or search through comments that you have already made
. When searching for keywords, you can decide whether the search should be case sensitive or applied to a whole word. You can adjust the size of the search results by dragging the border to the left or right. If the results should be hidden from view, simply click on
. Delete your input in the search field if you would like to remove the highlighted text. All the functionalities of the assignment viewer are explained in this article.
The icon for the assignment viewer is located in the top right-hand side of the screen as shown in the image below. It is different from the one provided by the lockdown browser as described above. |
FLOWmulti
Search within items on a FLOWmulti assignment
The search functionality can be used on an item when looking for specific text (elements). Please note that the search functionality only works on the item that your are currently viewing. It is not possible to search through all items within the assignment with one search.

Using the shortcut cmd+f whilst inside the lockdown browser opens the search box in top right-hand corner where you can enter one or multiple words. You can also specify the direction of the search (up or down).

Copy & Paste in the Lockdown BrowserWhen you are testing the demo version of the WISEflow lockdown browser, it is possible for you to copy your notes from the clipboard (by using CTRL+C or CMD+C), open FLOWlock and get access to your notes again by copying them into the browser. The search functionality does not work for assignments that are opened alongside the text editor. It is only possible to search through an attached assignment via the assignment viewer, as described below. During the exam in the lockdown browser, it is still possible to copy and paste, but anything copied before the exam is unavailable. |
