Using WISEflow Without Integrations

Learn how to work with WISEflow without integrations to other systems

WISEflow can be integrated with various Student Information or Learner Management Systems to support the exchange of information and enable a more efficient workflow for users. However, as a fully-fledged digital assessment platform, WISEflow also works well as a standalone system without any integrations, and new customers will usually start using WISEflow in this way during their pilot phase. This enables them to effectively evaluate whether WISEflow is the right fit for them before they move into full production and introduce integration with their existing systems.

WISEflow has several tools and time-saving features that make it quick and easy to use the system without integrations and there are examples of larger institutions having completed exams for over 30,000 students using WISEflow in a standalone capacity.

Creating and managing users in bulk

Once you receive your licence, one of the first tasks will usually be to add your users into WISEflow. This task can be performed in bulk by generating a template .csv file in WISEflow, populating with your users' credentials and then uploading the completed file back into WISEflow. For full instructions on how to create user accounts in this way, please see the article available here. Once a user account has been created, the user can log in with the login option enabled on the license. The login options are described in this article.

Some of the tools and time-saving features that make it quick and easy to use the system without integrations are mentioned below. For further information about all the tools and time-saving features, please contact UNIwise.

Bulk adding participants to flows

Adding participants to a flow can be similarly conducted in bulk using the tools available in WISEflow. From inside the flow, go to the Participants section, choose Add participants then Several at a time. You will be presented with a window into which you can paste the participant identifiers (perhaps generated from a Student Information System report). WISEflow will continually validate the identifiers as it checks for existing accounts whilst you add the data. Once you're happy with your list, click Add participants to attach them to the flow.

Once the flow has ended, and submissions have been assessed, you may wish to extract the scores and grades administered in WISEflow to be placed back into your Student Information System. To achieve this, go into the flow and to the Participants section. Select the Tools menu and then Export assessments.

On the next screen, you can filter the columns to display the values you would like before clicking on Export filtration file to generate and download a .csv file containing the data.

The copy flow feature makes it quick and easy to create flows based on templates or previous flows. If the institution has many assessments with the same setup and settings, templates can be copied each time a flow is to be created. When copying a flow, either a template or a previous assessment, the manager can choose what to copy over to the new flow.  With this feature, it is very quick and easy to create flows, even without integration.
