Different Types of Assignments in WISEflow
Understand the two types of assignments in WISEflow
There are two different types of assignments available to be created in WISEflow and it is important to understand the differences as you start to plan your assessment activities, both in terms of how these work and where they are able to be used.
File-based assignments consist of an uploaded PDF file and, optionally, can include appendix materials that may be in any file format. These can be used in FLOWassign, FLOWlock, FLOWhandin, FLOWoral and FLOWattend where students will be able to either preview the files directly in WISEflow or download them as required. Instructions on how to create and configure a file-based assignment can be found here.
By contrast, FLOWmulti assignments are designed and built directly in WISEflow. WISEflow offers over 50 different interactive item types from basic multiple-choice, short answer or open-ended question responses to complex mathematical evaluation methods. These are constructed using the native question builder and then arranged into tests ready for students to provide their responses directly within WISEflow. Interactive online assignments are only able to be used in FLOWmulti and you can find instructions on how to build and configure them here.
