Create Access Tokens
Support users unable to login to WISEflow by creating an access token
It is possible to grant access to a WISEflow user's profile using an access token. Access tokens enable a user to bypass the normal authentication method used to access your institution's/organisation's WISEflow licence.
To use this feature, the access token module must first be enabled on your institution's/organisation's WISEflow licence. Please contact the UNIwise Support Team for assistance if required.
How to Create an Access Token for a User
Users with the extended supporter role can create an access token for a user.
Access the Support tab and search for the relevant user on the Search user sub tab.
Once the relevant user has been located via searching, click on the Edit user button for that user (see screenshot below).
This will open the Edit user options for that user.
Click the + symbol button in the Access with link section. This opens the Access link generation screen.
- Choose the recipient email address which will receive the access token link. If the user you are creating the link for has multiple email addresses attached to their WISEflow profile, you will be able to choose which email address should receive the link from the drop-down menu. Access Tokens require a valid and activated email address to exist in the system for a user.
- Choose a date/time for when the Access Token should expire.
-
(Optional) Choose a password.
- Click Create.
The password is designed be used as an extra security measure. Therefore, the password is not sent from WISEflow to the recipient of the Access Token and the user must be informed of the password outside of the system.
Once created, an email notification is automatically sent to the recipient which contains the Access Token link.
Editing or Deleting an Access Token
Once an access token has been created, it can be accessed by searching for the relevant user and clicking on the Edit user button. The details of the Access Token will then be visible in the Access with link section of the Edit user options screen.
You can then edit (see 1 on screenshot below) or delete (see 2 on the screenshot below) the access token from that location.
