Overview

WISEflow Originality is available as a native plugin for Moodle. Institutions that run their assessment workflow in Moodle can use Originality directly inside their existing assignment process, without moving submissions between platforms.

Once the plugin is installed and enabled, Originality can be selected as the plagiarism checker for Moodle assignments. Submissions are sent to Originality automatically, and the similarity score and full report are made available to assessors in Moodle where they already manage submissions.

Who is it for

The integration is intended for institutions whose assessment process lives in Moodle and who want Originality's similarity and paraphrasing detection without switching systems or adding logins. It extends the range of LMS and exam platforms on which Originality can be used.

What the integration does

• Select Originality on an assignment — Originality can be chosen as the plagiarism checker when creating or editing a Moodle assignment.
• Automatic submission — When a student submits an assignment in Moodle, the submission is sent to Originality for processing.
• Scores and reports in Moodle — Once Originality has generated a report, the similarity score is shown in Moodle, and the full report can be opened directly from Moodle.

Requirements

In order to integrate your Moodle account with Originality, you need the following:

• A Moodle administrator able to install and configure external tools/LTI plugins. The plugin is installed on your Moodle site. Where Moodle is self-hosted, your Moodle administrator performs the installation.
• Moodle 4.1 or later
• PHP 8.0 or later
• Access to Originality API instance with OAuth2 client credentials

Configuration

Configuration of the Moodle plugin is performed by your institution's Moodle administrator.
